Silicone verses Foam

Let me begin by saying, I'm a fan of earbuds. I've used various headsets, but keep coming back to earbuds. The why is easy. Earbuds are easier to pop in and out. Comfort is another reason. Earbuds stay in way better than the round, flat earphone style, but the downside is during exercising. The silicone tips have a tendency to slip out. Replacing the silicone with foam tips changes all of that.Let me back up a bit. My first experience with using foam tips verses the silicone wasn't exactly pleasant. My guess is it was the foam's surface texture. The outside layer of foam tips aren't all the same. Some, like the one I used previously was smooth/soft, which amazingly reduced background noise and felt better in my ear canal. Problem was I found this type to cause pressure on my eardrums.With the Comply S-400 Series, the porous-like surface allows more air through. The end result is more background noise filters through compared to the smooth surface foam, but there is no pressure on my eardrums.Reading the technical details above, it says "Fits select earphones from Audio Technical, AKG, Denon, JVC, Monster, Philips, Sennheiser, Skull candy, Sony and more." I can vouch for JBuds J2 Premium Hi-Fi Noise-Isolating Earbuds (Black/Electric Blue), Logitech Ultimate Ears 500vi Noise-Isolating Headset - Dark Silver, and though it does fit Skullcandy INK'd Earbuds, the tips don't slip on so easily. I had to work to get it on. That said, the foam tips fit snug on each one. The plus is that these stay on.Three pairs are included and the free super saver shipping is offered. With a price tag of $9.95, it's an outstanding deal to me.

S Series Comply Foam Tips Have Made Me a Convert

I am a headphone junkie and am always searching for in-ear monitors (IEMs) that will provide me with good sound and good isolation from external noise. I commute daily on a train for close to one hour and good sound and good isolation are important to me.Enter the Comply Foam Tips. I have always stayed away from foam tips, as I generally could never get a good fit. The Comply tips, however, perfectly fit my ear canals and provide comfort, very good noise isolation, and true sound (the lows, mids and highs are all clear). The sound is very pure.The best way to wear foam tips is to squeeze them before inserting them into your ear, and then letting the foam expand to fit your ear canal. This tight fit, which is actually very comfortable, enhances bass and blocks external noise. The Comply Foam tips do this well, as I can wear these for extended periods with no discomfort.Foam tips tend to wear out faster than silicone, but the Comply Foam Tips S Series comes with three sets of medium tips, so a package should last a while. Also, these are universal, so they will fit a number of IEMs from companies like Altec Lansing, Audio-Technica, Denon, JVC, and Monster.Highly recommended.

Love them and I hate in-ear buds!

These are extremely comfortable and do a great job of cancelling out the noise! I hate the silicone style in-ear bud covers, they never stay in my ear and I don't find them even a tiny bit comfortable. These covers work just like the little foamy ear plugs worn while shooting a gun or by people that work around jets. You squeeze them down and stick them in your ear, then they expand back out to perfect fit into your ear canal. They blocked out the noise while I was flying and even block out the noise of my children pretty well too!!I have J-buds earbuds and these fit onto the ends perfectly. I recommend these over the other plastic type covers!!
