Excellent Quality Ear Cushion Replacements for Bose QC2

My Bose ear cushions were shedding black dandruff all over my clothes and everything around me. I checked Bose for replacements thinking that this should not be happening and perhaps the company would replace them free...not from Bose, the price is $35. I found these replacements at Amazon, ordered them and installed them to a perfect fit. No problem. They fit and feel perfect for 1/3 of the cost. Great service and a great product!

HeadphoneMate earpads for Bose QC15s are harder than Bose pads

My QC15s are lifesavers and mindsavers in my cube canyon worklife. I wear them 6 - 9 hours daily and when flying. My original equipment pads started losing resilience and then a cover began to split open after 12 - 18 months of this. So I orderd these HeadphoneMate replacements via Amazon.The product shipped promptly, arrived in perfect condition and (eventually) installed with no hassle.I immediately noticed that the HeadphoneMate replacement pads are significantly harder than the Bose OEM pads that came on the phones. Also their inner diameter seems slightly smaller than the Bose OEM pads -- just small enough that they crunch my ears slightly. This becomes tiresome after about 5 -6 hours.UPDATE 7/11/12: After about six more weeks of slightly sore ears from the relatively hard HeadphoneMate pads I replaced them with the $35 Bose pads. The Bose pads are much softer, seal better and worth the extra cost. They also accommodate my glasses much better than the harder HeadphoneMate pads.Original review continued:I've been using these pads for about a month now and they remain uncomfortably hard, mashing my ears against my head and crunching them slightly into the cup of the headphone.I'll give these pads another week or so to soften and adapt to my shape, but I doubt they will.So I expect to order a replacement for these directly from Bose. I've ordered replacement pads directly from the Bose website before and find that they also ship promptly and offer free shipping on many products. I just ordered a replacement cable from Bose. After shopping Amazon and Bose I found that the Bose price on this product was about $5 lower than the Amazon HeadphoneMate and the Bose shipping was also free.If you have medium-sized ears and spend long periods of time in your QCs you will probably find the Bose pads worth the higher price. These pads last a really long time -- as the HeadphoneMate pads look like they will too. You might not want to be uncomfortable for that long.

The stock ear pads on my Bose Quietcomfort 2 headphones were very worn out and the black finish started to come off. I decided to go with these since they were about half the price of the Bose replacement version and looked just as good. When I got them it took about 5 minutes to make the switch. The replacements create a much better seal and prevent external noise from making its way inside. I use my Quietcomforts all day at the office and I'm very happy with these and would recommend them to anyone looking for replacement ear pads.
